With every group of heavy hitters, one or two supports are game-changing in battle. The Support + Combo Mage build is exactly what it sounds like; with heavy use in frost attacks like winter’s grasp and ice Mine, you set your warriors up for shatter combos to stack up damage, and the offensive Storm spells can paralyze enemies for a second or two. Barrier and Revival are a must-have to keep your allies alive, but with the Desperation upgrade for Revival, they come back with a massive bonus to damage.

A quick one-two-shatter can take down your enemies in a flash

Dual Wield Rogues are good at quickly dealing out damage, and the Tempest specialization helps them maximize that. With the Flask of Fire upgrade that allows your abilities to have no cooldowns, you can zip around the field spamming your Deathblow and Twin Fangs to down enemies left and right. Flask of Lightening helps slow enemies, so you remain unscathed, but the real star is Flask of Frost. With this ability you swath yourself in ice and freeze the enemies you attack, allowing you to make constant shatter combos that stack the damage even higher.

6. Sword and Shield Reaver

[Top 10] Dragon Age: Inquisition Best Builds (6)

With great power comes great sacrifice

Reaver is a tricky specialization to use, as it involves losing health to heal more damage. But with the Sword and Shield weapon choice, you have a bonus to defense that a Two-Handed weapon doesn’t have and managing your health to rain hurt on your enemies becomes less frightening than it looks. Being a Reaver means your goal is to deal as much damage as possible, so the Payback Strike and Shield Bash moves are an essential complement, and the War Cry ability can help build guard so you can stay alive long enough to rip your enemies to shreds.

[Top 10] Dragon Age: Inquisition Best Builds (8)

What they can't see can hurt them very, very much

Stealth and fire; an odd combination that can lead to one of the most vicious damage combos in the Mage class. This is the only build where a special item is necessary, and that is the Ring of Doubt, a ring that keeps you in stealth while not attacking and making the first attack you make out of stealth automatically crit. Mix that with the Immolate spell and its Flashpoint passive and you have massive fire damage doubling every few seconds, then switching back to stealth before using Fire Mine to have it crit as well.

[Top 10] Dragon Age: Inquisition Best Builds (9)

The Crows have nothing on this

This one isn’t too bad to wrap your head around. A Rogue that keeps its distance, slips in and out of stealth and builds on a specialization that’s centered on critical hits has to be a good move. You become a violent storm of critical hits, racking up damage and then dodging away before anyone has a chance to see you.
